Accountant

Job Summary:

An Accountant at Miba is responsible for managing and processing payments to vendors and suppliers, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions. Key responsibilities include reviewing and verifying invoices, matching them with purchase orders or contracts, performing data entry into the accounting system, and communicating with vendors to address inquiries and resolve discrepancies. The role also involves preparing and processing payment batches, monitoring payment deadlines, and assisting with financial reporting and budgeting processes.

Primary Duties:

• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) Process: Handle AP processes for assigned Miba sites.
• Invoice Management: Receipt, verification, processing, and posting of invoices to ensure timely approval.
• Expense Documentation: Post other documented expenses such as expense reports, credit card statements, etc.
• Training: Train new approvers in relevant Miba accounting systems and protocols.
• Vendor Relations: Answer vendor requests, assist with vendor account reconciliations, and verification/processing of vendor credit notes.
• Payment Processing: Backup for weekly payment run processing.
• Account Reconciliation: Maintain and reconcile the GR/IR account.
• Month-End Close: Calculate and post missing invoice accruals at month-end close.
• Audit Support: Provide support during annual financial audits and internal controls audits.

Secondary Duties:

• Financial Statements: Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements (US GAAP, IFRS).
• Payroll Management: Assist with payroll file uploads and other relevant journal entries
• Additional Tasks: Perform other duties assigned by the manager.
