What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Maintenance Technician position at MICAH House?
Performs highly technical and skilled functions with specific training and aptitudes. Requires ongoing decision making and public contact. Ability to work with wide range of vendors and meet deadlines is critical. Ability to plan and conduct comprehensive, specialized projects. Training and strong communication skills are also required.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Performs routine maintenance on building interior, exterior, and grounds.
1. Cleans, maintains, and repairs building fixtures and equipment, including locks, windows, doors, screens, venetian blinds, gutters, drains, shelving, and kitchen utensils; replaces light bulbs and fuses; makes simple furniture, cabinet, asphalt tile, and linoleum repairs; assists in maintaining and repairing electrical
2. Must know carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs and maintenance; coordinate and oversee the work of outside contractors
3. Perform weekly inspections of facility and report to Operations Director.
4. Demonstrates an understanding and follow through with agency preventative maintenance plan.
5. Monitor HVAC system and change filters.
6. Assists in scheduled inspection, maintenance and repair of all agency vehicles.
7. Assist Donation Specialist with pickup and delivery of supplies and in-kind contributions.
8. Communicates with Operations Director for approval on projects.
9. Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.
10. Is dependable and punctual.
11. Demonstrate an understanding of the Trauma-Informed Care model throughout all daily interactions with staff, clients, volunteers, and donors.
12. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients, staff, community agencies, volunteers, and donors.
13. Able to lift 50 lbs. when necessary.
14. Uphold the confidentiality of staff and clients.
15. Attend staff meetings and trainings as requested.
16. Display a courteous and caring attitude at all times to clients, volunteers, staff, donors, and visitors.
17. Work effectively as both a member of a team and independently.
18. Abide by all Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
19. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
PREFERRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma
2. Four years related experience
3. Microsoft office skills
4. Valid driver’s license/ acceptable driving record
5. Skills in ongoing facility repair tasks
6. Ability to perform lifting and other physically demanding duties as necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
