What are the responsibilities and job description for the PCA - Personal Care Attendant position at Michael Anderson?
Hi there,
My name is Michael. I’m 60 years old, live in Chelmsford, MA, and have Muscular Dystrophy (no pity party needed!).
I’m currently looking for a compassionate part-time Personal Care Attendant to help with one-on-one personal care. The role includes assistance with:
- Grooming
- Dressing
- Feeding
- Hygiene
- Administering medication via G-tube
- Getting me ready for bed
All the fun stuff, right?
Even with the challenges of my disability, I’m in good health and good spirits. On Saturdays, the PCA will also be taking me out in my wheelchair-accessible minivan—to restaurants, museums, movie theaters, coffee shops for some people-watching, and the occasional road trip forseafood and beach pizza. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
Hours: Saturdays, 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Pay: $19.50/hour through Tempus Unlimited (goes up to $20/hour on July 1, 2025)
This job isn’t for everyone—but if you’re dependable, easygoing, and enjoy helping others live fully, you’ll give me the opportunity to get out and enjoy some of my favorite pastimes.
If you're interested, I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks and take care!
—Michael
