Location Description
Hopkins, MN is home to our Michael Foods, Inc. corporate headquarters. Hopkins is located 7 miles west of Minneapolis, boasting natural surroundings in a suburban environment that also provides quick access to major travel ways and local restaurants that give our community a distinct character. POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary focus of this developmental sales position is to aide in market execution of the Michael Foods value proposition and commercial vison statement through Sales Agencies and Foodservice Distribution. This position is designed to learn and develop product knowledge and sales skills utilizing resources across multiple divisions and geographic areas of the MFI Sales Teams. This position is designed to have a candidate ready for a Market Manager position once training is complete.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a working knowledge in order to becoming a sales specialist in all Michael Foods foodservice product categories.
- Accountable for working with the Market Manager on volume, planned growth and profitability goals in identified market.
- Assist on market volume plan and all related Go-to-Market initiatives.
- Help educate and drive Sales Agency performance on MFI corporate selling platforms and all other mandated priorities.
- Assist in driving category growth and market penetration through field execution of corporate and local distribution/wholesaler agreements.
- Perform general market duties; monthly reporting, other time sensitive requests from Market Manager or DVP.
- Communicate business intelligence across MFI organization including DVP, Market Manager and Sales Agency.
- Travel requirement - 50% or more.
- MUST be willing to relocate once training program is completed. (estimated 6 months)
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Focus of study to include training and/or experience in Business, Sales/Marketing, Hospitality, Food Service or Retail.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Ability to interface with the Sales Agency's Enterprise Management role: includes driving accountability, delegation, speed to market, communications and aiding in performance to goal attainment.
- Strong business finance skills and decision-making ability.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Highly motivated individual able to work in fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, anticipates situations, and takes appropriate action.
