Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate inventory needs based on projections and other forecasting methods. Monitor inventory to maintain acceptable stock levels, along with expedite open purchase orders for delivery timeliness.
· Monitor inventory to maintain adequate stock levels in all warehouses for customers without being over/under stocked
· Place appropriate purchase orders with vendors to replenish stock levels
· Build and maintain relationships with suppliers
· Routinely monitor each open purchase order status and its related items usage fluctuation to ensure ordered products arrive prior to a backorder condition. Initiate and expedite when necessary
· Determine reorder quantities based on product shelf life, vendor minimums, lead time historic usage, projections, and any customer service/account representative issues
· Continuously check open purchase orders and expedite or delay deliveries when and where necessary
· Assess deliveries for shortages or damages and escalate to the supplier and management
· Maintain and update computer information such as item cost, cube, weight, pack, descriptions, etc.
Systematically analyze vendor FOB price vs. delivered landed price. Utilize transportation department management to arrive at lowest landed cost
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)
· Must be able to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and provide exemplary customer service
· Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routine, and standard accepted practices
· 1 years Purchasing and Inventory Management experience
Preferred education minimum of an Associate degree
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
· Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and by computer.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
