Job Description
The Regulatory Affairs Consultant will be responsible for the following :
- Ensuring timely, efficient, and accurate communication between regulators and the Bank.
- Promptly communicating regulatory requests / inquiries and deadlines to internal stakeholders, across all lines of defense; properly tracking and following up on communication to ensure prompt responses; escalating issues of timeliness to supervisor, as needed.
- Properly maintaining and updating trackers including, but not limited to, regulatory affairs communications, meetings, exams, etc. to ensure actions are completed by internal deadlines.
- Arranging monthly and ad hoc regulatory meetings; responsible for logistics, scheduling, and coordinating with internal and external parties.
- Recording, distributing, and retaining proper minutes for all regulatory meetings.
- Assisting in the collection of regulatory-related information, status updates, and remediation progress from various Legal & Compliance Department teams, as well as other Lines of Business (Departments).
- Assisting with quality review of regulatory submissions to ensure deliverables meet strict deadlines and fulfill regulatory and quality standards.
- Recommending procedure updates and assisting with revisions per supervisory input.
- Completing other tasks or projects as assigned by the Supervisor, including ad hoc regulatory updates or communications, as requested.
- Knowledge of U.S. Banking regulations and compliance practice with strong emphasis on all aspects of BSA / AML and OFAC. Comprehensive knowledge of BSA / AML and OFAC related regulations. Knowledge regarding other regulatory compliance such as consumer compliance is preferred.
- Experience in financial regulatory / legal related area. Must have excellent communication skills, be a team player, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to implement the bank's policies and procedures. Ability to conduct legal / compliance research, regulatory review and other related skillsets; strong organizational skills, communication skills, and the ability to multitask in high-pressure situations.
- CAMS preferred.
