My client, based in Springfield, MA, is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual to manage multiple projects at various stages. As a project lead, you'll oversee all controls engineering tasks to ensure successful project completion. As an Automation Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing and developing cutting-edge automation solutions for innovative medical device products. From researching and procuring tools and equipment to streamlining mechanical processes, you'll play a key role in automating systems that enhance efficiency, reduce labor, and drive the future of health care technology.

Description

In this role you will report directly into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Design custom automation systems from concept to production.
  • Translate customer requirements into technical design specifications.
  • Develop electrical systems ensuring optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and other control devices.
  • Test and validate control systems to ensure compliance and performance.
  • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Source and program motors, drives, actuators, robots, and sensors.
  • Handle full system programming, testing, debugging, and upgrades.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials.
  • Support continuous improvement and stay updated on cutting-edge technology.

Profile

A successful candidate will have the following:

  • 5 years of experience designing and implementing control systems for automation projects.
  • Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams for seamless system integration.
  • Strong ability to tailor automation solutions to client-specific needs.
  • Proficient in documenting control system architecture, wiring schematics, and manuals.
  • Expertise in providing technical support during installation and commissioning.
  • Advanced programming skills in PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices.
  • Experienced with robotics, automation, vision systems, and sensor technologies.
  • Proficient in PC networking, device integration, and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Strong Allen Bradley control software and commercial component selection
  • Medical device manufacturing experience preferred but not required

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
