The Chief Financial Officer - Property will be a key part of this privately held, New York City based, family-owned property development and property management company. The position is on site 5 days a week. The company acquires, develops and leases their own properties and there are multiple additional revenue streams and businesses that are run through this private family office.
Job Description
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
- Partner with the executive team to evaluate new investment opportunities, acquisitions, and development projects.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Manage the company's capital structure, including debt and equity financing, to optimize financial performance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions, investors, and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure effective cash flow management and optimize working capital to support daily operations.
- Oversee property-level financial performance, including leasing revenue, operating expenses, and asset valuation.
- Collaborate with property management teams to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Oversee insurance, risk management, and other safeguards related to property operations.
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Promote professional development and ensure the team remains up-to-date on industry best practices and regulations.
- Act as a cultural steward, embodying the company's values and commitment to family-oriented leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 10 years of financial leadership experience, preferably within the real estate development or property management sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing the financial complexities of a vertically integrated organization.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
- Expertise in real estate financing structures, including acquisitions, development, and property operations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
- Base Salary Target Range : $225,000 - $275,000
