Job Description
Job Summary : The CRE Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting new loan transactions for multi-family, mixed-use, industrial, and retail properties. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial real estate finance and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Loan Underwriting : Conduct thorough underwriting analysis for new loan transactions, including financial statement analysis, cash flow projections, and market research.
- Risk Assessment : Identify and assess potential risks associated with multi-family, mixed-use, industrial, and retail properties, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Financial Modeling : Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support underwriting decisions and loan structuring.
- Market Research : Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes impacting the commercial real estate sector.
- Client Interaction : Engage with clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored loan solutions.
- Documentation : Prepare comprehensive loan documentation, including credit memos, risk reports, and loan approval packages.
- Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including loan officers, portfolio managers, and legal advisors, to support the execution of loan transactions.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3 years of experience in commercial real estate underwriting, with a focus on multi-family, mixed-use, industrial, and retail properties.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial analysis software.
- Excellent understanding of commercial real estate finance and underwriting methodologies.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
