Description
- Demand Forecasting:
- Data Collection & Analysis: Gathering historical sales data, market trends, seasonality, promotional activities, and other relevant information to inform forecasts.
- Forecast Evaluation: Monitoring forecast accuracy and identifying areas for improvement. Calculating forecast error metrics (e.g., MAPE, RMSE) and analyzing forecast bias.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with sales, marketing, product management, and other stakeholders to incorporate their insights into the demand planning process.
- Demand Review and Consensus:
- Demand Meetings: Facilitating regular demand review meetings with cross-functional teams to discuss forecast assumptions, identify potential risks and opportunities, and reach a consensus on the final demand plan.
- Forecast Adjustments: Adjusting the statistical forecast based on market intelligence, promotional plans, new product introductions, and other factors.
- New Product Forecasting:
- Analogous Product Analysis: Identifying related products with historical sales data to develop a forecast for new product launches.
- Market Research: Incorporating market research data and customer feedback into the new product forecasting process.
- Early Warning Signals: Monitoring early sales data and customer feedback to identify potential issues and adjust the forecast as needed.
Core Functions: Supply Chain Planning
- Inventory Planning:
- Inventory Targets: Establishing inventory targets for assorted products and locations based on demand forecasts, lead times, service level requirements, and other factors.
- Inventory Replenishment: Developing and implementing inventory replenishment strategies to ensure that products are available when and where they are needed.
- Safety Stock Management: Determining appropriate stock levels to buffer against demand variability and supply disruptions.
- Inventory Optimization: Identifying opportunities to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs while maintaining desired service levels.
- Supply Planning:
- Capacity Planning: Assessing the capacity of manufacturing facilities and distribution centers to meet demand requirements.
- Production Planning: Developing production plans that align with demand forecasts and inventory targets, considering capacity constraints and material availability.
- Distribution Planning: Optimizing the flow of goods from manufacturing facilities to distribution centers and to customers.
- Supply Chain Optimization:
- Transportation Optimization: Identifying opportunities to optimize transportation routes and modes to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
- Sourcing Optimization: Analyzing sourcing options and selecting the most cost-effective and dependable suppliers.
- Collaboration: Communicating with cross-functional teams about upcoming products and launches
Profile
- Will have 3 years of related experience.
- Having a university degree displaying coursework in engineering, business, or manufacturing.
- Have a hands-on, style work ethic, high level of energy, and contagious enthusiasm.
- They are comfortable with MS Excel and Word.
- Have previous technical experience with manufacturing, trading, or production.
- Have particularly strong attention to numbers.
- Can effectively explain your thoughts, ideas, and analysis results (both written and oral).
- They are comfortable working with numbers and creating algorithms to analyze the numbers.
