The Director of Sales & Business Development is an individual role to support the growth of the automotive castings market in the US and Mexico for our industry leading client. This person will collaborate across sales, operations, and corporate teams to develop and implement a market development strategy, aimed at meeting sales and profit goals established under five-year strategic plan.

Description
Manage and develop automotive, industrial business, aerospace, and selected target markets for Mexico and United States operations.
Work with the Vice President, Sales and Business Development, Operations General Managers, and Operations Sales Managers to develop and implement market development strategies aligned with five-year strategic sales and profit goals.
Develop, coordinate, and implement marketing campaigns through direct customer contacts.
Recommend and monitor new product opportunities for current and target markets, including negotiating strategies, pricing, payment, and other policies to ensure market success.
Determine and define programs, including financial estimates and risk analyses, to ensure projected growth and profitability.
Continuously monitor markets to assess market size and penetration of company products and services.
Maintain active field contact to stay informed on market conditions, customer technologies, emerging products, and programs.
Develop relationships with key customer decision-makers and influencers.
Engage with customer engineering teams to seize opportunities and influence decisions during customer prospection for new applications.
Monitor competitor activities, identify risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations to management.
Conduct regular visits to major existing and potential customers to cultivate new business opportunities.
Prepare short- and long-range market projections and make sales presentations to upper management and the board of directors as needed.
Provide immediate advisement to management if market strategies need adjustment or significant market shifts are detected.
Profile
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Highly motivated and results-oriented leader with strong business acumen, financial insight, and commitment to achieving bottom-line results.
Proven track record of successfully capitalizing on emerging growth and profit opportunities.
Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to delegate effectively, motivate staff, and interact at all professional levels.
Knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing, Form/Fit/Function, Machining, and Finishing Operations in Metal Forming. Experience may include sales, marketing, strategic planning, forecasting, or general business management.
Ten-plus years of experience in business development related to metal forming processes or automotive applications.
High energy level with strong conceptual planning and administrative skills and a proven ability to achieve company goals.
