My client has been serving the Greater Boston Construction Market for 30 years, beginning as a local roofing contractor and has now grown into a multi-faceted General Construction firm. They specialize in Federal Construction Projects from $500K - $20M. They are very actively looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to support a variety of Federal Projects in the area. Description
As the Estimator you will:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, including renovations and ground-up construction.
- Review project plans and specifications to identify key cost drivers.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure competitive pricing and scope of work.
- Develop detailed bid packages and ensure all materials, labor, and equipment are accounted for.
- Work with project managers to ensure estimates align with project timelines and budgets.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and bid submissions to clients.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project progression.
- Monitor market trends and adjust estimates as needed based on material and labor cost changes.
- Support the project team by providing cost tracking and financial updates during project execution.
Profile
The successful Estimator will have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Construction Technology, or related field preferred
- 5 years of experience as an Estimator
- General Contractor experience
- Project background in Government Contracting
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple projects
- Strong literacy of MS Word and Excel
- Working understanding of Timberline/Sage software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
