Description
The MEP Estimator is responsible for:
- Reviewing project documents (blueprints, specifications, etc.) and conducting takeoffs to prepare accurate MEP estimates
- Analyzing labor, material, and equipment costs for MEP systems
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather pricing information
- Preparing detailed cost breakdowns and presenting estimates to clients or internal teams
- Monitoring changes in project scope and adjusting estimates accordingly
- Maintaining relationships with subcontractors and vendors for pricing updates and negotiations
- Participating in pre-construction meetings and assisting with value engineering recommendations
- Assisting with project bids, proposals, and presentations
- Staying updated with industry trends, cost fluctuations, and new technologies related to MEP systems
Profile
The MEP Estimator should have:
- 3 years of MEP Estimating experience
- A strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing codes and regulations
- Experience using Procore or familiar software
- Construction related degree
- OSHA 10 (preferred)
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
