This role plays a key part in budgeting, cost control, asset management, and compliance, ensuring financial efficiency and accuracy.
Job Description
Project Cost Accounting Manager Responsibilities :
- Oversee project budgets, tracking expenses to maintain financial alignment.
- Analyze costs, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Work closely with project teams to manage Construction in Progress (CIP) and ensure proper capitalization upon project completion.
- Provide financial insights and reports to leadership.
- Assess financial risks associated with project changes and propose mitigation strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of company-owned assets, including acquisitions, transfers, and disposals.
- Ensure asset details such as costs, locations, and service dates are correctly documented.
- Monitor capital expenditures and ensure they align with budget approvals.
- Conduct physical asset audits and streamline asset management processes.
- Ensure adherence to accounting regulations, internal policies, and industry standards.
- Support audit processes by preparing fixed asset and financial documentation.
- Maintain grant-related records, budgets, and supporting documentation.
- Track spending and project progress to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
- Assist with state and federal grant audits.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost tracking, reporting, and capital accounting work flows.
- Implement automation and technology solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related industry
- 6 years of relevant accounting experience in relevant industries.
- Experience using different accounting softwares.
- Experience with C.F.R. Part 200
- Process improvement experience.
