Our client is a manufacturer of precision components catering to the aerospace and defense industries, specializing in products like gearboxes, ball screws, pumps, and actuators. With a business built on strong, long-term relationships with international aerospace manufacturers, they operate at a high volume and are experiencing increasing revenue. They are now seeking the right candidate to manage both internal and customer quality.
Job Description
- Develop and maintain quality and site-related documentation, ensuring effective process implementation and adoption.
- Ensure conformance to established standards and aerospace requirements, and implement measures to assure compliance with defined processes.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure continued compliance with AS9100 and NADCAP standards, and maintain process upkeep.
- Oversee the annual audit plan, review audit packages, train auditors, establish and maintain compliance records, analyze audit metrics, and develop improvement plans.
- Manage project timelines and co-manage cross-departmental teams.
- Assist in achieving team goals through coaching, training, guidance, direction, consulting, and teaching personnel.
- Ensure adequate support for the current system, collaborating with users to develop refinements, upgrades, or new capabilities to support strategic business objectives.
- Manage the Corrective & Preventive Action Board (CAPA) and the Corrective Action Request (CAR) process, tracking CAR status and ensuring effective root cause analysis and timely corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate responses, and perform verification and follow-up activities.
- Ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) conforms to AS9100 requirements.
- Conduct Management Reviews as the management representative, reporting on QMS performance and opportunities for improvement.
- Achieve customer satisfaction scorecard metrics for quality and delivery, and coordinate recovery plans when necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related Technical Field preferred
- Experience with AS9100, NADCAP, or other aerospace / defense quality systems
- Extensive management experience
- Manufacturing background in precision machining and gears preferred
- Strong expertise in quality management, particularly in root cause analysis and corrective actions
- ASQ certification strongly preferred
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification highly preferred
- PMP certification highly preferred
- Competitive salary between $100,000 - $130,000 depending on match with preferred skills
