Reporting into the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible with assisting in various accounting functions including month-end, audit requests, sales and used tax, cost/inventory and more!
Description
- Prepare and review complex financial statements, reports, and analyses in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
- Manage and mentor a team of junior accountants, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and reviews.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and proper expense allocation.
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Research and interpret complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Manage intercompany transactions, consolidations, and eliminations in a multi-entity environment.
- Review and approve vendor payments, expense reports, and invoices for accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor cash flow and treasury functions, optimizing working capital management.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4 years of accounting experience
- Manufacturing industry or relevant industry
- Cost Accounting experience
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Understanding and application of accounting principles/practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
- Strong business partnering and communication skills
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
