We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer with a background in purchasing ingredients, chemicals, or raw materials. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong procurement, supplier management, and planning experience to ensure cost-effective sourcing and supply chain efficiency.
Description
- Source and procure ingredients, chemicals, and raw materials from domestic and international suppliers
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and on-time delivery
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to optimize cost savings and supplier performance
- Analyze market trends and supplier data to inform purchasing decisions and mitigate supply chain risks
- Manage inventory and supply planning to align with production needs and demand forecasts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, R&D, quality, and finance
- Identify and address potential supply chain disruptions proactively
Profile
- 4 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on ingredients, chemicals, or raw materials
- Strong background in supply planning and inventory management
- Experience with contract negotiation and supplier management
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment (three days onsite in Addison, IL)
