The Head of OEM Business Development will lead a high-performing sales team of five Sales Directors, each responsible for specific OEM accounts, and this person will also develop and execute OEM business strategies.

Client Details

Our client is a $1B global manufacturer of complex aircraft engine components, specializing in Metal Forging, Casting, and CNC machining. They were formally created last year via merger, and are currently held by a Private Equity organization. US Site Headquarters are located in Manchester, CT however this role will be remotely based anywhere in the United States.

Description

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy focused on partnerships with aerospace OEMs.
  • Identify market trends and opportunities to position the company as a preferred partner for engine solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at aerospace OEMs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and its OEM partners, ensuring alignment on goals and deliverables.
  • Lead efforts to secure new contracts and partnerships with aerospace OEMs.
  • Oversee the negotiation of complex agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform product development and sales strategies.
  • Provide insights into emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
  • Partner with engineering, product development, and operations teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
  • Align internal stakeholders on objectives and timelines for OEM-related projects.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing business development team focused on OEM partnerships.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in aerospace business development.
  • At least 5 years in a team leadership role managing OEM accounts.
  • Proven success leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships at the executive level.
  • Strong understanding of the aerospace industry, OEM requirements, and regulatory/compliance.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills, with experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and market analysis.
  • Willingness to travel to build and maintain customer relationships and support the global sales team.
  • Experience operating within a PE-backed organization would be highly preferred.

Job Offer

  • $200,000 - $250,000 base salary
  • Performance-based sales incentives with uncapped commission potential.
  • Equity offering, varies based on level of experience.
