This position will report up into the an Operations Director and will manage a team of 5 employees. Description
The Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
- Lead and manage EHS programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Develop and implement safety procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous chemicals.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and mitigate risks.
- Drive a culture of safety through training, awareness programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe manufacturing practices and continuous improvement.
- Maintain and update EHS documentation, permits, and regulatory reports.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
- Lead emergency response planning, including spill control and hazardous material handling procedures.
- Monitor environmental compliance, including air quality, water treatment, and waste management.
Profile
The ideal Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- 10 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in handling hazardous chemicals.
- 7 years of Managerial experience and the ability to lead a team of strong EHS Professionals
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements.
- Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) are highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
- Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Proficiency in EHS software and reporting tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
Job Offer
The successful Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead - Manufacturing will be rewarded with the following:
- Base Salary of $120,000-$170,000 depending experience
