Job Description
Sourcing Strategy Development
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for mechanical components, including fasteners, bearings, machined parts, and assemblies.
- Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and risks to ensure a competitive advantage.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and innovation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive performance, innovation, and partnership.
- Lead supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management to achieve favorable terms and conditions.
- Evaluate supplier performance through KPIs such as quality, delivery, and cost adherence.
- Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify savings opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to optimize designs for cost and manufacturability.
- Implement risk management strategies to ensure continuity of supply.
- Partner with internal teams to understand mechanical component requirements and ensure alignment with sourcing strategies.
- Drive collaboration between engineering, quality, and operations to resolve issues and ensure seamless integration of sourced components.
- Identify and execute process improvements to enhance sourcing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, specifically with mechanical components.
- Proven track record of cost savings and successful supplier negotiations.
- Strong understanding of mechanical components, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and sourcing tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
