Job Description
As a Supervisor or Manager in the Client Accounting / Advisory Services (CAS) Department, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional financial services while managing a growing team. Your primary responsibilities include :
- Review and Guidance : Review staff work in areas such as outsourced accounting, payroll, sales tax, and advisory services, providing feedback and guidance to enhance skills and support professional growth.
- Business Development : Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities for new services, participating in client proposals, and helping to expand the client base.
- Initiatives : Support the execution of departmental and firm initiatives by aligning team goals with strategic priorities, fostering a culture of innovation, and driving continuous improvement.
- Client Engagements : Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, managing larger team projects from planning through execution.
- Client Onboarding : Oversee the onboarding process for new clients or services, ensuring smooth transitions and high-quality service delivery.
- Advisory Services : Provide advanced advisory services, including forecasting, KPI dashboards, and cost accounting.
- Client Work : Deliver outsourced accounting, payroll, sales tax, and controller services to more complex clients.
- Tax Notices : Manage payroll and sales tax notices, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Research : Conduct thorough research on payroll and sales tax issues to resolve complex challenges.
- Data Management : Maintain accurate financial data by organizing records and workpapers to ensure data integrity.
- Team Collaboration : Work closely with colleagues across the firm to ensure seamless service delivery, providing support to senior team members as needed.
- Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and improve efficiency within the CAS department.
- Experience : 5 years of experience in a similar role at a CPA firm, with a proven track record of managing and directing staff.
- Qualifications : A CPA designation is preferred, along with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Technical Skills : Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Yardi, and other major accounting software, with a strong aptitude for new technologies.
- Leadership Skills : Experience managing staff and ensuring the final quality of work products.
- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle complex client issues.
- Communication : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster strong client and team relationships.
- Attention to Detail : A commitment to high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Adaptability : Ability to work both independently and in a team setting, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
