Description

This firm is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Construction to join their leadership team. This position will be pivotal in overseeing their expanding construction operations, focusing on NC DOT projects, and managing critical erosion control and seeding initiatives for high-profile civil projects. Reporting directly to the President, this role will provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and leadership for their heavy civil construction projects.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all construction activities, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency across NC DOT and heavy civil projects with a focus on erosion control and seeding.
  • Lead and manage project teams, contractors, and subcontractors to meet project goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, particularly NC DOT and other key stakeholders in the civil construction and highway sectors.
  • Provide strategic input for project planning and execution, ensuring all projects comply with environmental sustainability and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage fleet scheduling, equipment procurement, and logistics to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial management for construction operations.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff and project managers to ensure professional growth and succession planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations and improve project performance.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety standards and regulatory compliance throughout project execution.

Profile

  • Experience: 10 years in construction management, with a strong background in heavy civil projects, including erosion control and seeding
  • NC DOT Experience: Required. Extensive knowledge of NC DOT standards, regulations, and procedures is a must.
  • Fleet Scheduling Experience: Highly preferred.
  • Bilingual: Ideal (but not required).
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, complex projects in the civil construction industry.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a demonstrated track record of managing teams and driving operational excellence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of safety practices, quality control, and regulatory requirements in heavy civil construction.

Job Offer

  • Base Salary: Up to $250K annually, based on experience.
  • Equity Opportunity: Potential for ownership stake in the company.
  • Vehicle Allowance: $1,250/month or a brand-new truck provided.

Salary : $16,000 - $250,000
