What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Service Technician position at Michael's Lighitng & Electric?
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to work individually without direct oversight to complete various scopes of work
- Maintain and drive a service van and ensure van is appropriately stocked and kept clean
- Ability to troubleshoot single and three phase electrical systems, identifying hazards or defects. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, locate cause of breakdown and correct system issues ensuring compliance with local codes
- Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, devices and fixtures. Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)
- Gather necessary material and service information to provide to office staff for project/job quoting
- Measure, cut, bend, assemble and install electrical conduit
- Install various types of raceway and cable tray systems
- Troubleshoot motor and control systems as needed
- Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects
- Maintain a safe work environment by following company standards and procedures
- Work on all types of ladders and the ability to operate various types of lifts
Qualifications:
- Service experience in the electrical field, no construction only applicants
- Self motivated and able to work on their own.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to pass drug screening and criminal background check
- Must have a clean driver's license
