Position Summary:
Join the Research Programs team as a Research Platform Administrator and play a key role in operating our REACH BC platform. Youll manage daily operations of the platform, provide user support, ensure data integrity, and help drive platform growth and development. Your work will involve troubleshooting, training researchers, analyzing platform performance, and fostering collaboration and partnerships to promote the platform and enhance research opportunities. Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for REACH BC platform administrative operations, including:
- Supports public members and researchers in accessing and navigating the platform
- Provides technical support to users, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Manages the backend administrative web portal, reviewing and approving research projects for posting
- Conducts quality control and assurance with a focus on identifying gaps and opportunities for platform development.
- Delivers excellent customer service, responding to user inquiries and issues via email
- Fosters collaboration and partnerships with external organizations, research institutions, and industry stakeholders to promote platform usage and research opportunities
- Develops educational materials such as written resources and tutorial videos
- Trains researchers on platform usage to support them in posting their research opportunities, providing live online demonstrations
- Helps script and co-write study purpose and study title text for REACH BC platform
- Assists researchers with the Research Ethics Board (REB) recruitment approval process to use REACH BC
- Enables growth strategy by interpretating and analyzing data to generate key insights and guides REACH BC's development based on platform performance metrics
- Manage the integrity and accuracy of research data on the platform
- Ensures compliance with data protection regulations and privacy policies
- Coordinates and tracks the progress of development projects related to the platform
- Prepares reports on platform usage, metrics, and performance indicators
- Collaborates with the REACH BC Program Manager and software developers to prioritize platform updates, bug fixes, and design improvements
- Actively participates in team strategy discussions, contributing input and recommendations on REACH BCs overall goals
- Identifies efficiencies, gaps, opportunities for collaboration with programs and teams within Michael Smith Health Research BC, and with external organizations
- Represents REACH BC at presentations and in-person events as needed
- Identifies issues and opportunities related to platform design, operations, and marketing/communication activities
- Facilitates knowledge exchange, sharing best practices, and initiating joint initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in health sciences, health administration or related field
- 3 years of experience in a health research-related field
- Previous experience at a research institution or research site
- Experience with web-based databases/platforms and working on software development projects.
- Experience or understanding of UX/UI concepts
- Comprehensive computer literacy, including database management and proficiency in various software applications such as JIRA, Google Analytics and PowerBI
- Knowledge or experience in quality management, risk management and change management
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to successfully interact with program and organization staff, patients, researchers, academic communities, health system partners, community partners, and the public
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to create clear and effective training materials
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to client/stakeholder needs
- Knowledge of the British Columbian health research system and familiar with Research Ethics Board submissions for health research studies and/or clinical trials is an asset
- Professional research administrator or research coordinator certification is an asset
