Certified Dog Trainer

Michael's Pack is seeking a Certified Professional Dog Trainer to join our team on Long Island. (Suffolk/Nassau/Queens/Bronx/Brooklyn) Applicants must have a valid NY driver’s license, and their own car for transportation to/from appointments. We work weekdays, weeknights, and weekends to accommodate our clients busy schedules. We train using ONLY positive reinforcement training methods. We do not use shock collars or any force methods. Responsibilities will include handling and training small and large dogs from puppy to adult, working with dogs needing basic training and behavior modification from anxiety to aggression. You must be able to interact with the public in a professional manner in order to Coach and Train them to become the trainer for their dog. We offer a GAS ALLOWANCE(Supplemental Pay) based off how many clients are seen in a quarterly period.

Certification such as CTC, CPDT-KA, KPA-CTP, ABC-DT, or equivalent. DO NOT apply if you do not have your certification. If you are in the process of becoming certified, we are able to work with you through your certification process. Hands-on experience training dogs is preferred – this includes working with puppies, teaching basic behaviors (sit, lie down, recall, loose leash walking, etc.), and working with basic behavior issues (jumping, nipping, house training, chewing, etc.)

Experience with behavior issues including fear, aggression, fearful aggression, reactivity, and separation anxiety will help the likeliness of being hired.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
