Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient files using Dentrix software.
- Handle infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide high-quality care, particularly in pediatric dentistry settings.
- Assist with medical coding for insurance purposes when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices within a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience in pediatrics or pediatric dentistry is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred.
