Administrative Assistant – Special Education
(12 Month Position)
REPORTS TO:
Assistant Superintendent for Special Education
WAGES:
According to the MEA Contract

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree is preferred.
- Two (2) years of secretarial or office experience/training is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of technology.
- Excellent data entry skills.
- Ability to use word-processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation software effectively.
- Ability to efficiently operate office equipment.
- Ability to set up and maintain an accurate filing system.
- Ability to work with spreadsheets and student data systems.
- Pleasant and professional office, reception and telephone skills.
- Able to interact and communicate courteously and effectively with staff, students, parents and co-workers.
- High level of integrity in maintaining, protecting and disseminating confidential information and documents.
- Ability to efficiently multi-task, manage time and prioritize tasks according to assignments and objectives set by supervisor.
JOB OBJECTIVE:
To assist the Assistant Superintendent for Special Education in an efficient, accurate and courteous manner so that the Special Education Department may provide maximum attention to the education of students according to the State of Michigan guidelines.
