Position Details
Qualifications:
- Michigan Teaching Certificate with NT endorsement or Guidance/Counseling License with NT endorsement or planning to become certified in a reasonable amount of time.
- Masters Degree in Counseling preferred.
- Must meet ESSA/No Child Left Behind Highly Qualified requirements.
- Pursuant with State of Michigan Student Safety Legislation, all prospective hires must provide fingerprinting and background check results to the District prior to employment.
Duties:
- Individual and group counseling to help students cope effectively with personal, social, academic and family concerns.
- Crisis intervention.
- Working with “at-risk” students.
- PBIS support.
- Middle School Section 504 Coordinator.
- Support Belding Middle School staff with students who have behavior issues.
- Seek outside counseling support for students and families.
- Provide classroom behavior strategies for teachers.
- Student scheduling.
- Building Coordinator for McKinney-Vento eligible students
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Career readiness coordination including EDP coordination.
Preferences:
- Knowledge of Skyward student management system.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of Ionia County youth services.
- Knowledge of 6th grade transition programs such as WEB (Boomerang Project).
