Job Title:
Coordinator of Student Programs for Expanded Learning
Job Summary:
The Coordinator of Student Programs for Expanded Learning will hire, train, supervise and evaluate the before and after school team leaders, site coordinators, tutors and club leaders providing services to K-12 students. The coordinator will also supervise the staff working on youth farm stand, school gardening projects and outdoor education programs conducted by the outdoor education facilitator. Collaborate with the Director, Health, Safety and Nutrition Services to ensure that educational materials, training and programs are appropriate for students, staff and parents.
Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
1. Supervises and evaluates staff in expanded learning programs.
2. Coordinates the interview process to facilitate the hiring of staff in assigned areas.
3. Works with staff and parents to ensure proper development and implementation of before and after school programs.
4. Writes grants related to before and after school programs.
5. Facilitates site based planning and implementation of day to day operation of expanded learning programs.
6. Assists with the evaluation of the effectiveness of before and after school programming.
7. Collaborates with the program evaluator to design instruments that measure project goals.
8. Provides leadership and training for youth councils and the county advisory board.
9. Provides leadership for multi-site services and training of staff and volunteers.
10. Creates strong partnerships and arranges relevant services for expanding learning opportunities.
11. Assists in development of nonmonetary arrangements for service provision.
12. Responds to participant questions, conducts site visits and provides assistance in meeting program objectives.
13. Provides leadership and technical assistance to schools and service providers designed to align service delivery with the principles of youth development and expanded learning.
14. Maintains appropriate documentation and record keeping, ensuring compliance with agency standards in regard to services and attendance.

15. Develops training manuals and materials in assigned areas.
16. Coordinates professional development for expanded learning staff.
17. Aligns before and after school programs and grade level content standards.
18. Conducts site visits to monitor programming.
19. With the use of technology, provides information to parents and district personnel on students participating in before and after school programs.
20. Works with director and coordinators of Health, Safety and Nutrition Services programs to ensure a coordinated health model.
21. Consistently models Win-Win leadership.
Other Duties:
1. May participate in local, state and national conferences as requested by the Director.
2. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, counseling or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
Three (3) years of documented, successful experience working with children and parents required. Five years preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
Skills/Other:
Ability to work collaboratively with school administrators, staff and agency personnel. Ability to effectively hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff. Demonstrated ability to organize partners to write and submit local, state and federal grants. Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency, as skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district. Ability to solve complex problems logically and effectively, to work independently, to manage multiple tasks and demonstrate effective time management skills. Excellent oral, written, electronic and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible workday, work week, and work year. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the essential duties of the position. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Discretion with confidential information. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to maintain a calm, poised and professional image at all times. Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in accordance with board policies and administrative guidelines.
