Qualifications
- Associates degree (AA) in early childhood education or child development or the equivalent; or a valid classroom CDA credential; or an existing 120-hour approval required.
- Willingness to earn certificate or degree within two years of hire may be considered.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification and TB Tests required
Responsibilities
- Work as a teaching team with Lead Teacher to create meaningful program quality goals and learning experiences.
- Assist in planning, implementing, and monitoring curriculum and assessment.
- Work collaboratively and communicate with the teaching team to implement lesson plans, activities, and other classroom tasks.
- Assist in working with individual and/or groups of students.
- Monitor behavior and support all aspects of the educational process in the classroom.
- Observe students’ performance and record progress.
- Assist in organization and participation in all family activities including, but not limited to, meetings, home visits, virtual calls and conferences.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information concerning the students and their families.
- Attend GSRP and local district staff meetings as assigned and assist with smooth operation of the program.
- Maintain continual professional growth as required by the Michigan Department of Education and the Bureau of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
- Other duties as assigned.
