POSITION: Counselor (2025-2026 School year)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Counseling endorsement (Michigan)
- Master’s Degree in Counseling/Guidance
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide academic and career counseling to students, assisting in the development of personalized education and career plans.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions addressing academic, social, and emotional concerns.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success.
- Develop and implement programs focused on college readiness, mental health awareness, and conflict resolution.
- Assist students with career exploration, post-secondary planning, college applications, scholarships, and financial aid processes.
- Help implement school-wide initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Secondary teaching experience (three years preferred)
- Previous counseling and/or professional experience (preferred)
- Ability to perform duties and comply with all district requirements and Board of Education policies
- Must meet criteria for “highly qualified” status
- Standardized Test Coordinator (SAT, WorkKeys, and M-STEP)
