Requirements:
Valid Michigan Secondary teaching certificate with a BA or BX endorsement
Responsibilities:
- Must follow district and state curricula and assessment requirements
- Must have effective rating in most recent performance evaluation (formal or informal)
- Knowledge of current curriculum trends and ability to write and develop new curricular direction in varied subject areas
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
- Recent secondary teaching experience desirable
- Input/participation in building and district committee structure to develop new curricular guidelines for all ages
- Commitment to work effectively with fellow staff members
- Knowledge of technology as instruction tools or willingness to become knowledgeable through independent training as soon as possible and commitment to use same regularly to enhance instruction effectiveness
- Knowledge of and ability to implement cooperative learning strategies on a regular basis
- Knowledge of and ability to implement higher order thinking skill development on a regular basis
- Knowledge of and ability to regularly use the writing process and expository writing to enhance teaching and learning
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
- Desire to develop an interdisciplinary approach to delivering instructional outcomes
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
- Follow and implement all Board of Education policies, administrative guidelines, and building regulations
