Position Details
Position Summary :
Under the direction of the Superintendent, the High School Principal provides leadership for the instructional program, as well as coordinating the implementation, review, and revision of curriculum at the building level. Also manages the operation and all functions of the grade 9 -12 secondary school. The High School principal supervises school staff regarding instruction, curriculum, student programs and issues, and building operations. The high school principal participates as a member of the Superintendent’s administrative team, schedules and attends meetings as appropriate and leads the site improvement process.
Professional Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in School Administration
- Current Michigan Administrative Certification
- Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate
- Valid Driver’s license Previous building level administrative experience preferred

- Willing to explore or introduce new and innovative educational strategies/programs as they relate to the curriculum and 21st Century Learning
- Ensure all assigned employees are aware of and follow all policies, rules, regulations, directives, and information issued by the Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools
- Maintain accounts for all monies belonging to the school or school groups and make periodic reports to the Business Office in order to effectively manage building budgets
- Administer extracurricular activities
- Administer athletic eligibility programs with the Athletic Director
- Attend special events held to recognize student achievement, attend school sponsored activities, functions, and athletic events
- Oversight of Morley Stanwood Virtual Program, including pupil accounting practices, student enrollment, and retention
- Familiar with Career and Technical Education Programming
- Good work ethic and high standards for work performance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Establish an open line of communication with parents and community Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent
