Qualifications:
- Possess and maintain a valid Michigan teaching certificate with a Master’s Degree preferred
- Hold a State of Michigan School Administrator Certification, or obtain as required by law
- Must have at least three (3) years successful teaching experience, prior administrative experience preferred
- Proven record of putting the interest of students and learning first and maintaining a culture of high expectations for student growth and achievement
- Extensive knowledge in use of student data, PBIS, and MTSS programming
- Ability to guide staff in professional growth and effectively evaluate their performance
- Demonstrate knowledge of a collaborative process to build consensus and enable teachers to provide research-based instructional strategies that encourage student achievement
- Proven leadership ability in working with students, parents, professional staff and other administrators
- Ability to work as part of the Administrative team focused on the District’s interest and goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong technology skills and ability to integrate technology to enhance and support instruction
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Build relationships with students, staff, parents and the community with a focus on the transition between Middle School and High School for students while promoting strong parental and staff involvement to create quality programs
- Provide instructional leadership to staff, including planning, review and implementation of curriculum and professional development
- Meaningfully contribute to school improvement and initiate changes where needed to create a high-quality teaching/learning environment and culture
- Supervise and evaluate staff and teachers as directed by the Middle School and High School Principals
- Maintain appropriate written documentation of personnel matters, and share the same with Human Resources
- Positive attendance is an essential job function for this position
Terms of Employment:
215 day/year contract (July – June)
