Position Details
POSITION:
Resource Teacher
- (1) Elementary (Keppen/Carr)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification (SA, SE, or SM Endorsement)
- Experience providing specially designed instruction through resource program preferred
- Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
DUTIES:
- Adapt, accommodate, and modify the general education curricula, pedagogy, and learning environments for students.
- Align and adapt the student’s program with the general education curriculum
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized behavior management strategies and PBIS plans.
- Prepare and implement PBIS plans based upon functional behavioral assessments.
- Use a range of curriculum guides to assist with identifying functional goals.
- Employ current assessment instruments and approaches, intervention methodologies, strategies, and techniques that are appropriate for students linking assessment outcomes to curriculum planning.
- Maintain compliance with special education timelines, required paperwork and documentation
- Communicate to all members of the school & community
- Meet the physical and mental demands of the teaching profession and the position
- Philosophy in accordance with Lincoln Park Public Schools
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Follow requirements of administrators
- Work collaboratively and effectively with co-teaching partners to provide specially designed instruction and meet the needs of students with IEPs in the general education classroom
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and school policy
- Provide classroom instruction and serve as an instructional leader for meeting the needs of Special Education students
- Other duties as assigned
