Position Details
NOTICE OF OPENING: Bus Driver
LOCATION: Various Locations
WORK YEAR: 2024-2025 School Year- guaranteed 25 hours a week or more
SALARY: $17.95 to $23.13 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Michigan Comercials Drivers License with air brake classification and Passenger & School Bus Endorsements: CDL- B, P, & S.
- Minimum qualification required: CLP – Commercial Learners Permit
- Paid training provided with CLP depending on experience and the following list of qualifications :
- Proof of excellent driving record.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must meet and maintain heath requirements of DOT regulations.
- Must meet and maintain Federal DOT drug/alcohol testing requirements.
- Must meet and maintain District/Michigan Department of Education competency levels of driving skills.
- Previous work experience with children of all ages including children with disabilities and the ability to be sensitive to their needs preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work directly with students in an appropriate and professional manner and to give direction as needed.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outside and drive in inclement weather conditions.
- Ability to sit and drive for extended period of time.
- Ability to walk, bend, stoop and squat as part of daily job duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Responsible for the safe and efficient school bus transportation of assigned students to and from school and school related events
- Responsible for maintaining all traffic laws, regulations and district policies / procedures.
