POSITION OVERVIEW
Heritage High School is searching for a teacher with a passion for students and a belief in teaching the whole child. Taking ownership of the students’ growth and adjusting as necessary to maximize learning is essential. This individual will have the ability and the will to teach all students, including those students who have unique challenges in learning and will strive to close the achievement gap for them. Regular, in-person attendance is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, highly preferred
- English (BA) or English Language Arts (BX) endorsement
- Specific training to teach at the High School level is preferred.
- Additional endorsement(s) in Science (DI or DX), Social Studies (RX), or Mathematics (EX) is desirable but not required
MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regular, in-person attendance required
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to use sound judgment; tact and courtesy in a variety of situations
- Work with frequent interruptions
- Repetitive hand motions
- Prolonged use of computer
- Possible occasional lifting or pushing of up to 25 pounds
- Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending and kneeling

HOURS/PAY :
- 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (7:40a-2:30p)
- Approximately 185 workdays (August through June)
- Salary and benefits are pursuant to collective bargaining agreement with Saginaw Township Education Association (STEA)
- Current 2024-25 compensation start at $45,138 Bachelor’s Degree (no previous teaching experience); $52,825 Master Degree, (no previous teaching experience)
- The parties’ collective bargaining agreement expires July 31, 2027.
