Position Details
Charlevoix Public Schools is seeking an energetic secondary Social Studies teacher who maintains a positive learning environment, holds high academic standards, and creates a student-centered classroom. Charlevoix Middle High School has students from grades 7th – 12th. Charlevoix Public Schools is open to candidates with all levels of teaching experience and educational degrees attained and has one of the top teacher salary scales in Michigan.
Qualifications:
- Social Studies Certification.
- Must meet Highly Qualified requirements as defined by the Michigan Department of Education
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate student learning, growth, and achievement.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations.
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs. Understanding of Multi-tiered Systems of Support.
- Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.
- Ability to effectively demonstrate a whole-child approach to teaching.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
