What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tile/Marble Setter Apprentice position at Michigan BAC Local 2?
We are currently getting ready to start interviews for new apprentices (no experience) and direct hires (Journeyman or some experience) in various trowel trades and are specifically looking for people who are interested in learning tile / marble setting. This trade is highly paid and in highly demand in Michigan.This 8 week training will be conducted at our Warren training center and is schedule to begin 24 February, 2025. Upon completion of the training you will be placed with a union contractor in the area of the state where you live.The training is free if accepted into the program but you are not paid hourly while in school. You do receive a $100 per week stipend for gas / food while attending. This program is for people who can see the long term potential in learning a trade as opposed to finding another job.Upon completion of training you will be placed with a union contractor in your area and go to work.Masonry is a unique craft with rare apprenticeship opportunities and provides a solid foundation that can take you down many different paths in a multi trillion dollar a year industry. This is very rewarding, hands on, and highly paid work.You MUST have a high school diploma / GED and valid drivers license to apply to the apprenticeship, and must be willing to take the ACT Workeys test at your local MiWorks or community college before the interview.Test site locations can be found here : Average Starting pay is $22-24 per hour for new apprentices.
