Job Description:
Berry Blue's Farm and Greenhouse Operator will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the greenhouse and field. This includes providing top-notch care for plants, monitoring pests and diseases, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in greenhouse and/or specialty crop farming operation and possess excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
• Provide regular care for plants, including watering, fertilizing, and pruning.
• Assist in greenhouse and field operations, including seed germination, fruit collection, and plant propagation.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in greenhouse and field operations, perform routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations regarding employment, worker protection, pesticides, and agricultural practices.
• Maintain inventory of greenhouse/field supplies and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Relevant experience in greenhouse and/or specialty crop farming operation, preferably with knowledge of controlled pollination techniques.
• Ability to operate farm equipment such as tractors and sprayers, with preference given to candidates with prior experience in this area.
• Effective written and oral communication skills, with ability to work independently and in a team.
• Valid driver's license and possession of or ability to obtain commercial pesticide applicator's license, able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
