FLEET MECHANIC
Michigan Broadband Services is actively seeking a Fleet Mechanic at their Carney, MI location. The Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for keeping the vehicles and machines running smoothly by performing repairs, inspections, and maintenance. This position requires a CDL license as moving equipment will be necessary.
This is a full-time hourly based position that is benefit eligible. This position will require some nights and weekends based on the needs of the business.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform diagnostics to identify problems
· Perform preventative maintenance, such as oil changes and filter changes
· Lubricate automotive and power-driven equipment with the use of air pressure and lubrication tools
· Perform repairs to worn parts, such as brake pads and wheel bearings
· Inspect, charge, and replace batteries as needed
· Perform routine repairs to manufacturer specifications
· Evaluate vehicle parts and systems, such as transmissions, engines and brakes
· Must be able to read vehicle and equipment manuals
· Keep computerized accurate and detailed records on any maintenance performed
· Order necessary parts when needed
· Respond to emergency repair requests
· Keep the workshop in a clean and orderly manner
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Must have a valid CDL license and be acceptable with our company’s insurance carrier
· Knowledge of servicing and minor maintenance of automotive and industry equipment
· Knowledge of oils, greases, and lubrication devices, and other tools and materials used in servicing equipment
· Ability to lift 50 pounds
