Responsibilities:
The EHS Manager will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing plant-wide EHS programs to meet safety, environmental, and compliance objectives.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs including accident investigations, corrective actions, safety audits, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and hot work permits.
- Conducting comprehensive EHS audits and leading risk assessments. Providing training on effective auditing/inspection techniques to identify risks and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Driving a culture of safety through continuous improvement initiatives, behavior-based safety programs, and a focus on achieving zero incidents.
- Managing environmental programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., EPA, OSHA, state/local regulations). Overseeing hazardous material storage, labeling, disposal, and waste management processes.
- Developing and delivering training on EHS initiatives, including OSHA and environmental compliance programs. Ensuring all employees are properly trained on safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Compiling, preparing, and submitting required reports to federal, state, and local agencies in a timely and accurate manner. Maintaining knowledge of evolving regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of the facility's emergency contingency plan and serving as the point of contact for environmental, health, and safety-related inquiries from agencies, employees, and the community.
- Monitoring and tracking all EHS-related activities, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending strategies to enhance overall environmental health and safety standards.
