Michigan Can Lines is seeking a skilled and dedicated Front End Technician to join our production team. The Front End Technician will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the front-end production processes, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. This role will require technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within the production team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of front-end production equipment to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Ensure production goals are met by maintaining the proper flow of materials and finished products in the front-end production area.
  • Monitor production processes, identify potential issues or delays, and address them in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure that products meet all specifications by performing quality checks and working with the quality control team to implement corrective actions if necessary.
  • Operate production machinery and equipment, including troubleshooting and making minor adjustments to equipment as needed.
  • Support maintenance teams in performing preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
  • Enforce safety practices and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols in all production activities.
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts, including identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Record and report production data, including machine performance, downtime, quality issues, and any other relevant metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance, quality control, and logistics, to ensure seamless production flow and resolve any issues.
  • Ensure materials are readily available for production and help manage inventory levels to avoid delays.
  • Participate in training and development to improve skills and enhance job performance.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications are a plus.
  • 1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with experience in machine operation and production processes.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and machinery used in manufacturing.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills to address equipment issues and minimize downtime.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with various departments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and other hazards.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to occupational hazards, including chemicals, high noise levels, and confined spaces. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety footwear must be worn at all times, and employees must follow all safety protocols.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
