We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our team. The Material Handler will be responsible for efficiently managing materials and supplies in support of plant production goals while adhering to safety standards and operational procedures. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure timely and accurate material handling, all while promoting a safe and organized work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Unload, receive, inspect, and stage raw materials, packaging materials, chemicals, scrap, and other supplies; ensure supplies are replenished in assigned areas as needed.
- Remove finished products from production areas, ensuring proper identification, labeling, and banding in accordance with customer specifications. Ensure that all finished goods are properly documented for shipment.
- Review the warehouse production planning schedule to determine shipping and receiving duties; stage and load finished goods and materials in alignment with production schedules.
- Coordinate the processing of scrap materials, ensuring proper storage and handling of scrap in designated bins and hoppers.
- Perform routine inspections of assigned equipment, including materials used for packaging, trailers, and air bags. Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
- Support 5S standards within the work area and throughout the plant, identifying waste areas and actively participating in continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and company policies to ensure a secure work environment for all team members.

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong safety awareness and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team, manage stress, and resolve issues in a positive, productive manner.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and other hazards.
- Forklift operation experience required.
Additional Qualifications/Skills:
- 3 years of forklift operation experience, including maintenance preferred.
- Working knowledge of hazardous waste management and proper handling procedures.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Experience with warehouse or ERP systems
Working Conditions
This position involves exposure to occupational hazards typical of a manufacturing environment, including lifting, moving materials, and operating heavy machinery. Employees are required to wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as needed, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other necessary safety gear.
