The Purchasing Manager will involve sourcing plant supplies, materials, equipment, and services, as well as managing vendors. You will be responsible for performing strategic procurement activities across various spend categories, aiming to find better deals and more profitable suppliers. Your expertise in supplier relationship management and negotiation skills will be crucial in ensuring cost-effective and high-quality procurement. By leveraging your knowledge of supply chain management and your ability to identify opportunities for improvement, you will contribute to the overall success of our organization’s purchasing operations.
Responsibilities :
- Procure plant supplies, other direct materials, services, and equipment while employing the most effective cost control methods possible.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all purchasing transactions in the plant
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries; Expedite all open orders to ensure timely delivery of items
- Review and maintain inventory levels by reviewing usage of procured products to reduce stocked inventory levels
- Maintain insurance certificates and global contract information for plant review
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
- Forecast price and market trends; Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Drive continuous improvement efforts by eliminating waste, reducing operational costs, and introducing more efficient production methods
- Responsible for maintaining process quality in accordance with Operations process and quality standards
- Lead safety, quality, and productivity programs, conducting regular workplace inspections and addressing non-compliance issues as necessary
- Perform project work and distribute necessary communication to support business objectives.
- Maintain an awareness and comply with hazardous waste management and other environmental management requirements; Communicate with EHS or Plant Manager regarding environmental management activities
