Job Type: Part-Time/Seasonal

Reports to: General Manager

Michigan Cream and Sugar Ice Cream Company is a collaboration of HORIZONS Conference Center and Michigan Sugar Company . Founded in 2019, our scoop shop in Uptown Bay City serves up hand-crafted ice cream featuring the freshest and highest-quality locally sourced ingredients we can find – and every scoop of ice cream we sell benefits Michigan farm families. As a business of HORIZONS, we are committed to delivering exceptional service, superior presentation, and outstanding quality.

Michigan Cream and Sugar is looking for the BEST to join our team. This is a seasonal position. Michigan Cream & Sugar operates March-October. We begin onboarding for service staff in January and February each year. We accept applicant inquiries year-round.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Learn the menu
• Cultivate connections with our guests & respond to their needs immediately
• Maintain an upbeat & friendly environment
• Thrive as part of a team where you will collaborate with your co-workers
• Prepare & restock all food & paper products
• Maintain the cleanliness of the ice cream shop
• Wash dishes
• Take out trash.
• Cash handling

Physical Requirements:

As a team member, you will rotate between scooping ice cream, making cones and batter, and helping our guests at the register along with maintaining the cleanliness of the lobby. This requires walking, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling to handle or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. You will also be asked to operate equipment such as waffle cone maker. The ability to communicate and exchange information with coworkers and our guests is also required.
