OBJECTIVE
Mgr, Program Management Office Objective
To lead and manage the Project Management Office, ensuring effective project delivery, resource management, and adherence to organizational standards and best practices. Overall responsibility to oversee a team of project managers and collaborate with various stakeholders to drive project success and achieve business objectives. To maintain alignment with the business strategy and accountability. Overall responsibility for coordinating, organizing, and controlling all program activities within assigned program area(s).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Mgr, Program Management Office Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the PMO team, ensuring alignment with Strategic Plan and Corporate Goals and Objectives.
Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and standardized project management practices across the organization.
Allocate resources effectively to support project delivery, including staffing, budgeting, and resource forecasting.
Optimize resource utilization and capacity planning to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, department heads, and project sponsors, to ensure alignment and support for project initiatives.
Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders in a clear and transparent manner.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, working closely with project managers, program managers and stakeholders to develop risk management strategies and contingency plans.
Maintain processes for risk identification, escalation, and resolution.
Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor project performance, track progress against goals, and report on key project milestones and deliverables to stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO, identifying opportunities to enhance project management processes, tools, and methodologies.
Foster a culture of innovation and learning within the PMO team.
Mentor and develop PMO team members, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages growth and learning.
Overall responsibility for coordinating, organizing, and controlling all program activities within assigned program area(s).
Establish and ensure appropriate governance functions and processes for assigned program(s), in accordance with best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Mgr, Program Management Office Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management or equivalent experience may be considered.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent required.
Five or more years of program management experience with medium-scale programs and seven or more years of project management experience required.
Prior management experience required.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and best practices.
Knowledge of information technology concepts, techniques and processes required.
General knowledge of insurance company operations required.
