JOB SUMMARY
The Mortgage Closer will contribute in the areas of preparation, reconciliation and delivery of the closing documents.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review file and prepare loan package to be sent to title co. for closing• Review and approve final docs per all regulations and guidelines• Ensure closing docs are issued and approved in a timely manner• Schedule closing with processor/LO.• Prepares and delivers a Preliminary Closing Disclosure in accordance with all regulations and guidelines.• Assist in preparing packages for shipment to investors.• Completes mortgage loans by monitoring collection, verification and preparation of mortgage loan documentation; scheduling and completing mortgage loan closing.• Excellent interpersonal and persuasion skills.• Ability to perform functions in an accurate and timely manner.• Perform other duties as assigned.• Becomes/is an advocate of the Michigan First culture, supporting diversity, philosophy and other credit union initiatives. Fosters a positive image of Michigan First via professional representation in all contacts and complies with all of Michigan First’s mission and vision goals.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous mortgage experience required • High school diploma, BA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred.• Previous experience in Encompass loan origination software is a plus.• Passion, great communication skills, self-motivation, positive and competitive attitude.• Detail orientated• Ability to think critically and make educated judgment calls within regulatory parameters• Possess strong interpersonal skills, to work effectively in a team environment.• Consistently maintain professional appearance and attitude. • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to team members and members of the organization.• Ability to operate PC, including input, output, and inquiry to member accounts and other account information required in the member service function.• Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
