What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Analyst position at Michigan Freedom Fund?
The Michigan Freedom Team is actively seeking a Research Analyst to join our team.
Responsibilities include:
- Analyze the state legislative agenda from committee activities through final passage.
- Craft opposition research on individuals and issues .
- Produce research for strategic communications, talking points, press releases, and briefings.
- Identify potential opportunities to engage with the media and interact on social media.
- Monitor media platforms for opportunities to further Freedom Fund issues and interests.
- Analyze state and local legislation, budgets, ordinances, and regulations.
- Perform Ad Hoc research projects as necessary.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of state legislative process
- Familiarity with state legislative and statewide elected officials
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Must align with First Principle philosophies and values.
- Knowledge and experience with research platforms such as Lexis Nexis are preferred but not required.
