Peer Recovery Coach - Warren, Michigan - Full-Time
Summary/Objective: The Peer Recovery Coach’s role is to support patients in their recovery from substance use disorder. He/she must demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences and develop productive peer-to-peer relationships. The Peer Recovery Coach shall serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to promote long-term recovery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist recovering persons in developing their own plan for advancing their recovery by assessing personal interests, goals, and potential obstacles regarding recovery.
Identify and create linkages with community groups and agencies such as mutual self-help groups and professional resources when needed.
Develop relationships with community resources and engage recovering individuals such that individuals are familiar with potential opportunities.
Identify barriers to participate on in community resources/agencies and develop strategies to overcome those barriers.
Revision of recovery plan when changes arise. Collaborates with healthcare team to review patient progress/challenges regarding long term recovery.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
High School diploma/G.E.D. Successful completion on of Peer Recovery Coach Certificate or Training. Supervision Received Behavioral Health Specialist, Home Health Director Supervision Exercised
